Whether racing solo, double-handed or with a crew across the Atlantic or around the world... At the age of 36, Sébastien Marsset is one of those all-round skippers, and is well known for both managing his own project as working as a top crewman in prestigious teams. In just over ten years, he has gone from his first transatlantic race on a Mini (6.50m boat) to the round the world record on Spindrift, a 40-m trimaran. He has taken part in two Volvo Ocean Races and competed in the 2019 Transat Jacques Vabre on an Imoca, the type of boat sailed in the Vendée Globe. A solid all-rounder out on the water, Sébastien is the same ashore, applying himself to his physical preparation, while studying the weather and shows the same enthusiasm dealing with the technical aspects of his projects as he does with dealing with his partners. Married with two children, it is in this desire for perfection that he has given himself the clear goal of taking part in the 2024 Vendée Globe. To build up his skills, Sébastien Marsset has joined Team Vendée Formation.
