Fabrice Amedeo has loved being on the water and racing at sea since childhood. But he pursued a professional career as a top level journalist with Le Figaro. Even so he got more and more into competitive sailing as a "Reporter from the sea". He is a Political Sciences graduate who has a masters degree in philosophy. But finally he reached a point in his life where he succumbed to the big ocean racing challenges and became a skipper in his own right. A native of Segré (Maine-et-Loire) he now competes on the IMOCA circuit and next November he will take part in the Route du Rhum for the fourth time. As part of his #OceanCalling oceanographic and educational project, he takes advantage of each race to take measurements (CO2, salinity, microplastics, etc.) that he makes available to the international scientific community in order to contribute to the preservation of the oceans. With the support of his partners, he has started another new cycle heading into his third Vendée Globe for which he has optimized his IMOCA Nexans – Art & Fenêtres by adding large C-shaped foils.
