Szabolcs Weores retires

Hungarian skipper Szabolcs Weores has been forced to formally abandon the Vendee Artcique Les Sables d'Olonne. His team issued this statement:

After inspection of the hydraulic system this morning, in consultation with a hydraulics specialist we believe there is no short-term fix for the system, a full overall and evaluation of the system is needed, over the past few months the emphasis has been on qualifying for the Vendee Arctique and as a result we are now encountering technical issues not foreseen. It is with regret that Szabi Weöres has informed the Race Organisation that he is terminating his participation in the event. He and his team thank the organisation for all the assistance, encouragement and support they have provided. SZABI Racing will continue to follow the race and wish all competitors a safe passage onwards.
